“ Highly recommended on my Sedona chat group, this restaurant did not disappoint. Beautiful inside, and also you can eat outside on the patio as well in good weather. We had a reservation for 5 when they open, and we were seated immediately. I ordered a blackberry prickly pear margarita, which was so good. Just the right amount of sweetness and balanced perfectly. We were given complimentary chips and salsa. I ordered fingerling potato enchiladas with red sauce, crema and pickled onion which were very good. I also had a cup of their truffle corn chowder, which was decent but not something I would order again. My husband had a Ceasar salad, which he said was excellent. Service was excellent. If in town again, this is definitely on my list of a restaurant to return to. ”
“ We are visiting Sedona for my birthday and we had a great birthday dinner here with amazing food and service! We did not have reservations but called went on a waitlist and were called same day and offered a reservation for 5pm seated at the bar. The staff were very friendly and seated us right away. We ordered the Elote and Crab cake appetizers to start and they did not disappoint! I am not a mayonnaise fan so I normally do not like elote that much but this was delicious! The crab cakes with the toppings were so good. For entrees I ordered the Smoked Brisket Enchiladas and my husband ordered the Buffalo Mole. The brisket was very tender and the sauce was so different from normal red enchilada sauce but in a good way! It wasn't heavy like typical Mexican enchiladas, which I surprisingly did not mind. The flavors were subtle but with a kick and the marinated onions were my favorite! The Buffalo Mole was delicious as well, very tender and so much flavor. You can tell a lot goes into their recipes. For dessert we had a hard time deciding between the Mexican chocolate pie or the Pastel de Elote but we chose the chocolate pie which was really good and it was really nice to have the owner bring out our dessert himself to us :) My favorite part was the candied almonds and crust. I do wish I would've tried the Pastel de Elote as well but hopefully we can come back again. We enjoyed our dinner very much and would love to go back again! ”
“ We had really great meal here on our first visit to Sedona! The place does get packed so reservations ahead of time is important! The restaurant has that southwestern vibe, matches perfectly with the scenery. Our server, I believe his name was Adrian was really great and hospitable. Cocktail: Roasted Pineapple Mezcal $16 - Mezcal, Fresh lime mix and chipotle chile powder - was super tasty! That smokiness and pineapple sweetness was delicious. We also got the Chile Serrano Margarita which was very tasty and got the spicy kick I was looking for. Appetizer: Sweet Corn Bisque. - very creamy and flavorful. The crunchy tortilla chips were great Mains: + Buffalo Mole Poblano $40 - Braised Buffalo short ribs in a traditional mole Poblano - very decadent, the mole was thicker and the short ribs were tender. + Smoked Pork Cheeks $29 - Braised all natural pork cheeks served with cascabel chile sauce, grandma's corn cake and buttermilk cumin drizzle - I really liked the corn cake, the sauce consistency was thinner but there was plenty of it. Pork cheeks were also very tender. I love the incorporation of toppings like pickled onions and the tortilla strips to add texture to the dishes. Would recommend! ”
“ I went to the cafe with my family. The food was amazing - probably the best Mexican food I've gotten in Sedona. My server was super nice and we had a nice chat. It was busy but there was hardly a wait. You HAVE to stop by if you go to sedona! ”
“ My friends and I had a great experience here while visiting from NY. Armando was our waiter and he was very helpful in helping me decide what to eat since everything on the menu sounded incredible. They have an extensive tequila and mezcal list, if that's your thing (yum), and everything we ordered was so tasty. Beautiful decor and unique dishes. ”
“ I came here solo while traveling and sat at the bar. I guess because it was low season (late January) I was able to get a reservation a few weeks out. I heard from many people they couldn't get reservations. They seem to do 2 main seatings at 5:30pm or 8pm, at least from what I could see with their online reservation system. Everyone told me this is THE place to eat in Sedona and it lived up to the hype!! One of my best meals in Arizona. I had the elote corn appetizer and halibut. Amazingly flavourful and delicious! The cocktails looked amazing, but alas, I was driving so couldn't try any. The ambiance is warm and inviting. The patio would be great on a warmer day. My server Omar was friendly and kind. From the website I thought it would be a bit fancy, so I packed a nicer outfit to wear here. But honestly, I saw people in hiking boots, so really it is anything goes. Definitely recommend Elote to anyone looking for a fantastic meals in Sedona. ”
“ Wonderful stop while in Sedona! We had heard great things from so many people, so we made reservations well in advance. We arrived around 6:30 and this was in late January, so at that time it wasn't packed yet... you probably could have walked in (you know, early dinner, low season, etc.). As the night went on it got more and more crowded inside, but it was never loud or disruptive, and we were very comfy in our giant booth. The service was impeccable, the elote appetizer was as good as you'd hope knowing the restaurant is named for it. I had a duck carnitas dish that was very good and had so many different ingredients and flavors. It was a lot of food and made for good leftovers the next day - even though we didn't have a microwave to warm it up! I had the jalapeno prickly pear mocktail, which was so good and pleasantly spicy and not too sweet. Highly recommend this place -- it's worth the hype! ”
“ Amazing service from Jose & food was next level YUM & just the taste of Sedona we wanted! ”
“ This was the best dinner we had in Sedona. Outstanding food and great service. Every person loved their dishes and the variety and menu size was absolutely perfect. The truffle soup was phenomenal. I would definitely recommend making a reservation far ahead of time as we were there during the off season and it was completely booked up. The margaritas were also very strong. Only thing I would say was the queso fundido wasn't the best but everything else was perfect. ”
“ 3.5 stars I may have been over hyped about this restaurant as I thought the food was just a-okay. Being from southern California, I've had plenty of much better food at Mexican inspired restaurants. The rice and beans were underwhelming and a big miss. Disappointed since they're such a staple to a Mexican meal. I was not a fan of the goat cheese appetizer not the lamb in mole sauce. The only standouts for me were the elote and the duck dish. The ambiance and service was fantastic however. Given that I'm not a fan of goat cheese and lamb, it may be worth a try if you're in the area and those are one of your favorite foods. ”
